Meet Karen Fairty

Karen Fairty is a trusted real estate expert in Marin County, known for her deep connection to the community, its landscapes, and the distinctive lifestyle that sets Marin apart within the Bay Area.

With a background in commercial real estate asset management and leasing, Karen transitioned to residential real estate in 2003. Since then, she has become a consistent top producer, representing both buyers and sellers throughout Marin County and achieving more than $350 million in career sales.

Raised in the New York City area, Karen began her real estate career in Washington, D.C. with LaSalle Partners (now Jones Lang LaSalle) in 1989. As a Leasing Specialist, she oversaw the marketing, budgeting, and leasing of multiple office towers, working closely with institutional owners. In 1998, she relocated to the Bay Area and soon after launched her residential real estate career with Hill & Co. in San Francisco, where she was named “Rookie of the Year” in her first year. She has remained in the top 10% of agents throughout her career as a Top Producer most recently with Compass before joining City Real Estate Marin.

Karen is highly skilled at navigating complex transactions and high-pressure situations, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for her clients. She brings an in-depth knowledge of Marin County neighborhoods, schools, market conditions, and the local economy to every relationship.

A longtime Mill Valley resident, Karen is actively involved in the community and contributes a portion of her commissions to charitable organizations, including Home for a Home, which supports housing initiatives in Guatemala. Outside of real estate, she enjoys hiking the trails of Mt. Tam, spending time at Stinson Beach, and playing tennis at the Mill Valley Tennis and Marin Tennis Clubs.
